New Features Color Pop with AI support in Google Photos

Announced at the Google I / O event last week, a new feature called Color Pop, backed by AI, began rolling to the Google Photos app on a number of user devices.

Color Pop automatically changes the background color of the photo to black and white, while the subject remains colored.

Thus, the subject will appear more prominent and the color on the photo will be more interesting thanks to the contrast between the black and white parts and colored parts in the image. In order to utilize Color Pop, subjects must be easily recognized by Google servers.

If an image does not meet these requirements, a notification will appear on the Assistant tab in the Google Photos 3:20 app. One of the Reddit users shares pictures photographed and edited using Color Pop, and uses Pixel 2 with Andoid P Beta operating system.

However, keep in mind that currently, Color Pop is not an edit feature that users can manually apply to photos. This may change in the future, when the support technology has been better, but now the new editing process can be done automatically.

Earlier in the I / O conference, Google told developers that users no longer have to worry about its data being misused by apps thanks to various updates on Android P. Google confirms on this operating system, cameras, microphones or other sensors can not be accessed when the app runs in the background .
